Pooln Site Up and Ready -- Hopefully

Tuesday, March 15 2005 - 0 Comments

I've embraced the idea of letting your creations out of the bag before they're ready (in the web world at least) if you are willing to iterate on them after they're out there. However, it's still really tough to put something new out knowing that there are still plenty of issues and refinements to be made. The benefit is (hopefully) that the refinements needed will become clearer because they're specified through user feedback. With that as my plan (hope), I introduce Pooln.

Pooln is a network/community of people looking for someone to carpool with. It seems like the time is right for an increase in participation in carpooling. Gas prices, long commutes, and pollution can all be relieved to some degree with carpooling. The problem is finding out who to carpool with. That's the problem that Pooln tries to solve.

Pooln also has an associated blog which I'll use to keep users up to date on developments regarding the site as well as report news and info that might be of interest to carpoolers. The blog will also act as a tool for communication between the users and the developer (me). So, feel free to make comments about the site -- what works for you and what doesn't. I hope you give it a shot.
