The Soup

The Soup is what I've started calling weather like what we've had the last two days in New York. Although I grew up with this kinda stuff in Atlanta, my 3+ years in western states has completely destroyed my ability to cope with this kind of heat and humidity. I remember having a nosebleed the day I left Colorado for here and thinking to myself "man it'd be nice to have a little bit of moisture in the air." This...soup-like environment is far far more than I was looking for.
To deal with the soup I got a window unit air conditioner. I specifically set out to get the most efficient one I could find as these kind of things are pretty big energy hogs. I outlined the important info for buyers in a post over at Treehugger called Choosing an Efficient Room-sized Air Conditioner. I think I'll be doing some more writing for them later (maybe something on Pooln soon), but for now I'm helping with a lot of semi-technical backend elements -- which I like.
